Recipes for Space

This quest is an open competition for chefs around the world to create the ultimate space recipe. ‘Recipes for Space’ is a project that addresses the need for systems in which resources and energy are as much retained as possible: the ingredients are grown, prepared, cooked, and disposed/reused locally (in space) – think of the Space Recipe created by Wieger Wamelink (Wageningen University). We are currently creating an evaluation framework that integrates all criteria related with the entire food consumption and disposal and reuse (life)cycle. Recipe making – in this context – requires the collaboration between chefs, nutritionists, space engineers, biologists, and urban farmers, which is just what we hope to achieve with this project.
